Why we think it’s the Best Humidifier
The Air-O-Swiss AOS 7144 Ultrasonic Humidifier is one of those products that works exactly as it should do. Compared to some other humidifier products this Air-O-Swiss product is a breath of fresh air. First of all it is very easy to set up from the box and the tank takes enough water to last a whole day, or two nights for example.
One reason why we think this is the Best Humidifier is because it is one of the few ultrasonic humidifiers that have dual mist – that is, creating both warm and cool mists.
The warm mist operation is excellent since it doesn’t make the room feel like a greenhouse when you walk into it. The warm mist is just the right temperature and you can safely put your hand into the spray without it getting burned which is a great feature. The water is warmed using the pre-heat function, which only warms it to just above body temperature and only uses the same power as a light bulb so it is very efficient. There are also no bright lights or glows so it is ideal to be left in a child’s room overnight as it won’t be disturbed by light or noise.
Another great thing about the Air-O-Swiss AOS 7144 that makes it deserving of the “Best Humidifier” accolade is its quiet operation. You would wonder if it was actually working if you couldn’t see the mist being generated. You will only notice it when it is dead silent at night.
No Leaks!
A big problem with some mist humidifier models is leaking, particularly from the water container. There is no leaking from the Air-O-Swiss AOS 7144, nor is there any condensation on the unit or the surrounding surfaces. The mist is so fine that it easily becomes airborne and doesn’t get the chance to settle at all. Yet another checkmark on our “Best Humidifier” checklist!
It Looks Good As Well
I don’t know why but most humidifier manufacturers don’t seem to worry about looks but this is certainly an exception. It actually looks cool with its silver finish and digital display. The icing of the cake and the clincher for the “Best Humidifier of 2011″

While it might cost more than some other humidifiers the higher price is more than justified by its high quality design, reliability and the very useful controls.After all, what use is a cheap but substandard humidifier?
