Are you looking for the Honeywell HWM 260 humidifier? I know a few people who gave this Honeywell humidifier a very low rating. Quite a lot of complaints that the humidistat does not work even when it is brand new.

Most reviews stated that the humidifier died before 2 years.

Only a few people gave the humidifier a 5 star rating for effectiveness and durability.

I go with the majority and probably best to stay away from the HWM 260 model.

The newer model HWM 450 gets a much better review. I suggest you take a look at the Honeywell HWM 450 humidifier. Amazon.com

Update: The Honeywell HCM-630 humidifier is even better than the 450. With over 70 reviews on Amazon and lots of 4+ star ratings, this is a humidifier that I would buy next time after the current one that I am using breaks down. This one is extremely quiet so it works well in the bedroom. Not to mention, this humidifier is very small and compact. Last time I checked, it was a little under $50 on sale! Amazon.com

Have you ever heard of an evaporative humidifier? I saw a website of some guy making his own humidifier so I would like to share it with you. The materials that he used to make the humidifier is pretty much priceless. He is a genius because he saved so much money making his own humidifier.

Here is what he needed to make one:

-pet water dish with automatic refill
-some big sponges
-a cheap fan that has a switch
-a tupperware plastic square bowl
-4 screws

Total cost there is probably less than $10!

The DIY directions are so simple. He pretty much just cut a few holes here and there, and then screwed the fan onto the water dish. It was all written in just 3 steps. You can probably make your own in less than 15 minutes if you have all the right materials with you.

Are you looking for the best silent humidifier? My friend has the Air-O-Swiss AOS Ultrasonic Humidifier - 7135, and I believe it is the most quietest humidifier ever made. If you are planning to put a humidifier in your bedroom, this one should be it.

Also, if you are looking for a humidifier that can switch between warm mist or cool mist, this humidifier should be it as well. The water tank seems like it doesn't need to be refilled for almost the entire day.

There is a timer on this humidifier which most humidifiers do not offer. I believe every humidifier should have a timer setting.

He said he never had a problem with the Air-O-Swiss 7135, and I think this is a great product to buy so I ended up buying one as well.

There are lots of great reviews online about this product. I took a look at the reviews before I decided to buy one even though I was really convinced when I saw the one at my friend's house. The only complaints are from people who said the humidifier had stopped working, but I assume they have been using it for a LONG time. I don't expect humidifiers to have a long life. If I can use one for about two years, then I am satisfied.

I knew the best thing to do is read reviews before buying Honeywell Humidifier parts, but I did not do it. The parts are not made by Honeywell itself!

However, the product does say the parts number that matches the original one to Honeywell, but it is completely different brand.

As a consumer, the whole idea of not getting a genuine part drops the rating in my opinion.

The price is very cheap for the humidifier parts, so that will bring up the rating a bit.

It is actually pretty effective as I have tried it for over 2 weeks already. If only the product was actually made by Honeywell, I would have given it a 5 out of 5 star rating.

I wish I can get real Honeywell humidifier parts.

Another person said the product works great even though it is not a genuine part. Before you buy something online, always check real reviews by real consumers!
